On 10 April 1945 Cotignola was liberated after the frontline of the Second World War had divided its territory for months. It was written that the town was blasted off the map, but after the war Cotignola managed to rose and live again.

The “Cotignola 1944–1945” project aims to provide anyone interested with a solid basis of information and materials for the study, the remembrance and a renewing memory of the past. So that those who faced the war in Cotignola won’t be forgotten.
